Do ayurvedic medicines too have side-effects ?
Yes but much less than Allopathic medicines.
Any medicine that is having effect will have side-effects too. Though side-effects mostly are considered negative things but there can be side-benefits too, the positive thing. Allergy can be there with any & everything.
One example. One very senior citizen, male had difficulty in urination. Ultrasound revealed normal prostate but muscle growth at the Blader outlet mouth, Kapha-Vridhi in ayurvedic terms. Kachnar Guggulu and Vridhi Vadhika Vati given, relief started immediately. But lung problems erupted, also gastric issues. Our Vaidya group diagnosed – is clearing Kapha from whole body, continue. Still the lung, stomach troubles were so much severe that the treatment had to be stopped. Explanation to a layman – side-effects.
Due to the natural origin of all ayurvedic medicines, body accepts it better and much less harmful side-effects are witnessed.
Yograj Guggulu given in big joints pain reduces weight too. If patient is not overweight, it is an unavoidable side-effect there.
Solution ? Inform the patient in advance and give him choice to accept the extra effect (side-effect or side-benefit) or to deny treatment.
